Ed Sheeran’s ‘÷’ (Divide) Has The Biggest Opening Week In 2017 So Far

We’re all familiar with the sounds and talents of Ed Sheeran. Recently the talented singer/songwriter, producer and more dropped his third studio album, called ‘Divide’. The project debuted on top of the charts this week, moving 451,000 equivalent album units, with 322,000 of being traditional album sales.

This makes the project the biggest opening week of 2017, and the biggest opening week since J. Cole dropped off  4 Your Eyez Only in December of 2016. In between, Future’s self-titled project sold 144,000 album equivalent units in its first week, while HNDRXX moved 121,000 copies. Big news for Ed, and certainly a great way to start out the year.
