The Verzuz Battle between DMX and Snoop Dogg to me wasn’t even a battle. With over 1.9 million viewers both artist played classic hits. Every time I thought one artist was up, the next artist would drop a bomb. Both DMX and Snoop Dogg has songs that put me back in time. Snoop managed to stay relevant through out the years while DMX legal issues pushed his career in the wrong direction.
Many people don’t know or just simply forgot DMX dominated hip hop. He had five years where he released five straight No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200. DMX was the first artist to have 2 No. 1 albums in the same year. Snoop Dogg’s longevity in hip hop is not to be taken lightly. He started out as a young phenom in the early 90’s that turned into a hit maker by the mid 2000’s. From Death Row with Dr. Dre to No Limit with Master P, Snoop always manage to push out a hit record. This Verzuz Battle showcased two of our biggest names in hip hop and it was not a disappointment.
