DJ Luke Nasty Sets the Record Straight About “Might Be” and Anderson .Paak + The Key to Making Hit Songs & Freestyles Live

DJ Luke Nasty has one of the hottest songs in the streets right now with “Might Be.” Sampling Xscape’s cover of The Jones Girls “Who Can I Run To” the beat was first used by Anderson .Paak on his album “Venice.”

Joining Sway in the Morning DJ Luke Nasty clears the air about animosity with .Paak and his own keys to making hit songs. Speaking on getting a call from .Paak about using a beat he already cleared for his album, Luke Nasty says they worked everything out through Empire Distribution. Revealing right away that he looks up to Lil Wayne and his run of mixtapes freestyling over other people’s beats, Luke Nasty says you better come correct over your own production or he’s going to make it a bigger hit.

Getting his start with the 336 Boyz he speaks on hard work and never giving up after the group saw some success and then drifted apart. Making music since the age of 15 he says it’s how hard you push after you fail that really speaks to your character.

Joking about using nasty in his name he talks about how sex brings people together and he reveals his favorite fetish before calling girls to slide in his DM’s. Before he leaves Luke Nasty steps to the mic and rips a freestyle over a few J. Cole beats. Watch above and keep up with DJ Luke Nasty on Twitter @djlukenastyy.
