Hip-Hop legend Keith Grayson, better known as DJ Kay Slay has passed away after a long four month battle with COVID-19. He was only 55 years old.
The news was confirmed by longtime promoter Van Silk and music manager Wack 100, that Kay Slay passed on Easter Sunday.

Kay Slay got started out as a talented graffiti artist under the tag “Dez”, who would later evolve to become The Drama King, one of the biggest DJ’s in hip-hop. Kay Slay was known for his Streetsweeper mixtapes, collaborating with some of the best artists on the streets. He also became a media mogul, launching Straight Stuntin’ magazine.
The outpouring of love from the industry has been immense in just a few short hours.
DJ Kay Slay’s impact on our culture will be felt for generations. And he will be sorely missed. Our prayers and thoughts are with his family. RIP DJ Kay Slay.
