It’s been 20 years since the tragic Columbine massacre and today we had the honor of welcoming the active principle during the mass shooting, Frank Deangelis.
‘They Call Me Mr. D: The Story of Columbine’s Heart, Resilience and Recovery,’ is his new book and while in-studio he remembers the heartbreaking incident that took 13 lives. Since then, he’s made it his mission to dedicate his lives to those who are still recovering from the shooting and helping to prevent anymore in the future.
“The only drills we did were fire drills,” he remembers from the preventative measures from 20 years ago. He now applauds all the efforts that schools, teachers and students are making — from changing policies, voting, gun laws and taking mental health issues seriously.
All proceeds of Mr. D’s new book will be donated to organizations helping victims of mass shootings. A true hero. Watch below.
