College Football Week 5: The Top 10 Gets a Makeover as #3 Ole Miss, #6 Notre Dame, #7 UCLA and #8 Georgia Fall Short

“When it all, all fallssss down.” The College Football world had to have that classic Ye and Syleena Johnson hook as background music late last night as the new rankings began to take shape. The majority of the Top 10 was pushed to the brink and in danger of falling out of the BCS Playoff discussion after a wild Week 5. Most escaped but a few…not so lucky.

#25 Florida overpowers #3 Ole Miss start to finish with a 38-10 win.

Not sure what was in the water Saturday afternoon (or maybe it was just the Gatorade) but Ole Miss came out flat against the Gators like they did not take their SEC opponent seriously. Biggest Mistake of the Day. Florida jumped on them early and didn’t remove their foot until the game clock hit all zeros. At halftime, this one was already a wrap with UF already holding a 25-0 lead. The SEC musical chairs continue to play out as the toughest conference continues to offer …..week in and week out.

#13 Alabama beats #8 Georgia 38-10 in an attempt to sneak back in the BCS discussion. The Gauntlet that is also known to many as the SEC followed up with another battle between #8 Georgia and #13 Alabama. You can tell these two had issues before the game even got started as Georgia started running their mouth and taunting Bama as soon as they came out of the tunnel. The refs had to step in between just to make sure no punches were thrown but at the end of the day it all comes down the actual game. Unfortunately for Georgia the only thing they did was piss of an already angry Bama team that was coming off a loss in their previous SEC game versus Ole Miss. Needless to say it got ugly for Georgia once the whistle blew as Bama rolled to a 38-10 win. Maybe they should save the celebration until after the game next time.

12 Clemson beats 6 Notre Dame 24-22 after a clutch 2 point conversion stop.

After Notre Dame put together one of the most impressive 4th quarters we have seen in recent years. It all came down to a 2-point conversation with hopes of finishing the fight in OT. But, a focused Clemson defense had other plans as they came up HUGE with :07 seconds and unfortunately the 4 ND turnovers had caused way too much damage way too early to overcome. Clemson’s Head Coach summed up his team’s performance perfectly:

“Listen, we give you scholarships, we give you stipends and meals, we give you nice uniforms and a place to live. I can’t give you guts. I can’t give you heart.’ … Tonight it was BYOG, bring your own guts. They brought some guts and some heart and they never quit until the last play.”

TCU destroys UT 50-7 as Boykin, Doctson set more school records

Only a week after TCU‘s monster receiver Josh Doctson put his stamp on the school reception record, he decided why stop there as he broke their career record for touchdown catches. As if Texas wasn’t already looking bad, the Horned Frogs Heisman candidate QB Trevone Boykin broke Andy Dalton’s record for career touchdown passes (5 for the game) on their way to a dominating 50-7 win at home. Looks like TCU is making their statement loud and clear, they will NOT be missing the BCS Playoffs this year.

sitting between a dream and reality enjoying the view. blessings.
