It is encouraging to see the rap game getting back to being about lyrics and delivery. Especially for women in rap being hyper-sexualized. Don’t get me wrong, everything has its place and audience, so I don’t knock any of it, but when you hear rappers like Che Noir it is good to hear the balance. This emcee/producer However, really made a splash with As God Intended, produced by Apollo Brown. She has had some solid work before and after that, but today she has released a monster of a project with Food For Thought.
The Buffalo emcee has so many styles and range on this project. It gives off a nostalgic feel but with a new flare. The album features Ransom, 38 Spesh, Rome Streetz, 7xvethegenius, Armani Ceasar and Jynx716. Che Noir had this to say about pulling Food For Thought together:
“Recorded during a very dark time in my life. I was working on 2 albums when I did Food For Thought. I was also working on my album Lotus Child. I took a couple songs from Lotus Child to bring Food For Thought together. Bringing my thoughts to a full meal”
Che Noir
We featured “Table For 3” with Ransom and 38 Spesh already. But some other standout records are “Ladies Brunch” featuring 7xvethegenius and Armani Ceasar. This trio can step into any cypher with bars like this and body everyone in the building. And “Praises” is fire simply with Che talking that talk and staking her claim of GOAT status. Che Noir is not playing any games, and if you are late to the party, get on board right now and listen to Food For Thought below.
