Chance The Rapper Will Receive The BET Humanitarian Award

Chicago’s very own, Chance The Rapper has had quite the year. Today the wordsmith is back in the news, this time around as the word comes down that Chance The Rapper Will Receive The BET Humanitarian Award. The news came down recently that Chance will receive the award for his philanthropic and societal improvements. The artist has been a positive voice for the community with access to mayor’s office in Chicago and former President Obama.

Previous honorees include the likes of Muhammad Ali, Al Sharpton, Don Cheadle, Magic Johnson and Dwyane Wade, with Jesse Williams, honored last year. Chance has long been making changes in the community, and back in March, he donated $1 million to Chicago Public Schools. Oh, he was also named to TIME’s list of most influential people in the world. Congrats to Chance The Rapper on the well-deserved accolade! Stay tuned for more and was as Chance gets his award June 25 on BET.
