Many of us were first introduced to Amara La Negra through Love and Hip Hop Miami, but make no mistake, this Afro-Latina has been making waves in the music industry for years. In fact, as a child, she made regular appearances on Spanish-language TV’s hit show on Univision, Sábado Gigante.
Just last month, this proud Dominican released her debut EP, Unstoppable, a colorful 7-track bi-lingual project that pays homage to her Latin roots while incorporating infectious Caribbean drums and empowering messages.
During our annual live broadcast at SXSW in Austin, Texas, Amara La Negra made an appearance and graced our stage with 2 live performances of ‘What a Bam Bam’ and her hit single,
Insecure.’
Watch and sing along to her performance below and grab her new project, ‘Unstoppable’ on all streaming platforms.
