All Hail Y.T. Just released his album MidSummer Dreams. This album is soulfully produced with well used samples as All Hail Y.T. glides over the production with witty bars and real lyricism. The intro song “Smugglers Run” he raps “Could move a hundred thousand with my thumb, wire transfers counting my advances while I Polly with my duns,” making a reference to Queensbridge while letting it be known right after he was from Texas. The next song “All Money In” feat Left Lane Didon has a horn heavy sound in the production that gives me that 90’s vibe. Another song on the album that caught me was “Good Brotha” where Y.T. explains there are some good brothers in the world and how all brothers don’t fit into the stereotypes we are commonly accused of. A groovy tone on the album is “Manifest,” it has a jazzy sound as All Hail Y.T. flows effortlessly without a hook as he lets the beat ride out at then end and sound bites from the news is bought in.
He ends the album with the track “Inferno” where he just finishes the album how he started it and it’s with strong lyrics. Overall I think this is a strong album with great production followed up with strong lyrics. “MidSummer Dreams” will be in my playlist well beyond the summer. Salute All Hail Y.T. on a job well done.
