Eric Bellinger Celebrates Fatherhood and a New Chapter With Heartfelt New Single

Eric Bellinger

Eric Bellinger is stepping into a new era, and he’s doing it in the most personal way possible. Just in time for Father’s Day weekend, the 2x Grammy Award-nominated singer, songwriter, and producer has released his latest single, “Fatherhood,” a soulful tribute to dads and the journey of being a present, loving father. The track arrives alongside an official music video and serves as another glimpse into what’s to come on his upcoming self-titled album, Eric Bellinger, due out August 21 through Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins’ EVOLVE Music in partnership with TAMLA/Motown.

For longtime fans, this album feels like a deeper introduction to the man behind the music. While Bellinger has spent years creating hits for artists like Chris Brown, Usher, Justin Bieber, and Wale, this new project focuses on his own story, one centered around family, growth, love, and life experiences.

The self-titled album finds Bellinger reflecting on everything that has shaped him over the years. From being a husband to singer and actress La’Myia Good and father to their two sons, Elysha and Eazy, to navigating the loss of his mother, the project captures an artist embracing every part of who he is. It’s vulnerable, mature, and honest without losing the smooth R&B sound fans have come to love.

Over the past few months, Bellinger has slowly introduced listeners to this new chapter through deeply personal records including “Cry In Front of You,” “Just Like You,” and now “Fatherhood.” Each release has peeled back another layer, revealing an artist who isn’t afraid to talk about grief, love, healing, and purpose. “Just Like You,” dedicated to his late mother, stands out as one of the album’s most emotional moments, honoring the woman who continues to inspire him both personally and creatively.

Away from the studio, Bellinger has been connecting directly with fans on the road, bringing this new music to stages across the country. His tour picks back up on July 18 with a stop at the Yaamava’ Resort & Casino at San Manuel, before heading into a special hometown residency at Blue Note Los Angeles this October. He’ll also make his way to Blue Note Hawaii for a two-night run later that month.

With Eric Bellinger, the singer isn’t trying to reinvent himself, he’s simply showing fans a fuller picture of who he is today. And if “Fatherhood” is any indication, this next chapter may be his most authentic yet.
