Though longtime friends and former Priority Records labelmates, this marks their first official collaboration, one that bridges history, culture, and coasts.
The title “42” pays homage to Jackie Robinson’s iconic number as a Brooklyn Dodger, a symbol that resonates on both sides of the country now that the Dodgers call Los Angeles home. That same duality with Brooklyn grit and West Coast edge weaves through this record.
With sharp lyricism and uncompromising delivery, the track weaves from Dodger blue anthems to Brooklyn block codes, firing shots at industry politics while celebrating Hip-Hop’s unfiltered essence.
