Globally, there are over 35 million people living with HIV, and 1 out of 7 don’t even know it. Joining us for First Aid with Kelly Kinkaid on Sway in the Morning, is activist, Maria Davis — who has lived with HIV for 20 years and AIDS for 17.

While in-studio, she opened up about how she contracted the disease and how important it is for people to exercise safe-sex and get tested every 6 months. There are even home-kits for additional privacy, she tells us.

If you, or a loved one, is suffering from HIV or AIDS, “get educated” Maria says. She also recommends plenty of exercise, a strict regimen, regular visits to the Doctor’s office, belief in a higher power, and an open conversation with the people closest to you.
