Hip-Hop icon Erick Sermon best known as one-half of the legendary EPMD, slides back into the spotlight with a fresh new project, Dynamic Duo’s Vol. 1. Instead of making a traditional solo return, Sermon leans into what’s always made him great: authentic chemistry, classic collaboration, and that unmistakable E-Double groove.
The album is exactly what the title promises which is a celebration of duos, the magic of teamwork, and the history of iconic partnerships in Hip-Hop. Sermon handpicked some of the culture’s most powerful tandems, bringing together generations of talent in one place. The lineup is stacked: Redman & Method Man, Snoop Dogg & Nate Dogg, The Game, Conway The Machine, Public Enemy, Cypress Hill, Tha Dogg Pound, Salt-N-Pepa (fresh off their Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction), M.O.P., Heltah Skeltah, 38 Spesh, and even the first new EPMD track in more than 10 years.
Alongside the album, Sermon also dropped a gritty new visual for “Sidewalk Executives,” featuring none other than M.O.P., another reminder that he knows exactly how to bring out the best in Hip-Hop’s hardest hitters.
Sermon says this project was all about bringing fresh energy back to the culture. “I wanted to challenge myself artistically and put together an album built around legendary Hip-Hop duos,” he shares. “Vol. 1 is just the beginning.”
Dynamic Duo’s Vol. 1 is available now on all streaming platforms via Def Squad/DNA Music Group/Hitmaker Distro. It’s ushering in a new chapter for a legend who helped shape the sound of Hip-Hop and still knows how to move it forward.
