10 Dead Following Mass Shooting At Community College In Oregon

Terror erupted in Oregon on Thursday morning after 26-year-old Chris Harper-Mercer entered Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon; killing 10 people and wounding 20 others. While details are still emerging, authorities have revealed that Mercer reportedly targeted specific students, shooting those that identified as Christian in the head while only wounding those that chose not to respond or identified under a different religious faith.

President Obama shared his own remarks on the tragedy saying, “There’s been another mass shooting in America, this time at a community college in Oregon. This means there are more families, moms, dads and children whose lives have been changed forever.”

He went on to express his continued frustration with the nation’s current stance on gun control explaining,  “As I said just a few months and I said a few months before that, our thoughts and prayers are not enough. It does not capture the heartache and grief and anger that we should feel and it does nothing to prevent this carnage from being inflicted someplace else in America next week or a couple of months from now.”

This story is still developing.
