It’s been two weeks since the untimely passing of A Tribe Called Quest’s Phife Dawg. The late rapper is still giving us good music from up above in the form of a new video called “Nutshell”.
Produced by the late J. Dilla, Phife sticks to his intricate lyricism: “Uninterested when dealing with unoriginals unaccustomed to unproven rap flows…unresponsive to unapproved stage shows…that’s unacceptable, unexciting, lazy f*cker…Phife, the uncanny, uncommon rhyme spitter.”
Fifty percent of the proceeds of the song’s sale will go to The American Diabetes Association and The National Kidney Foundation. His family said in a statement: “Malik had always wanted to use his voice to raise awareness and formally educate young people about diabetes, so we think this is the perfect way to honor him and contribute. This will be an ongoing relationship with these two great organizations,”. Watch below.
