This is what we’ve been waiting for all year, the NBA Playoffs. After one of the most memorable seasons in a very long time, one that included: Kobe Bryant retiring, the Spurs incredible home game win streak (only to be broken by Golden State), Warriors topping the seemingly untouchable Bulls 72 win mark with 73 and Steph Curry draining a record 400+ 3-pointers in one season. It’s hard to imagine Golden State playing better basketball than they did during last year’s run but here we are with the numbers and highlight reels to prove they are.
Although the regular season 73 wins for the Warriors is beyond incredible, many (including their organization) will say it is only one of their goals – a NBA championship trumps all. If Game 1 of their first round match-up against the Rockets is any indication of what’s to come, the league is in trouble….again. Opening up their playoff run with a 104-78 win that scared fans due to a Curry ankle injury, probably sparked every ounce of competitiveness in the roster after Patrick Beverley decided to take being a “pesky defender” to another level in hopes of frustrating Steph this series. Respectable approach, even Draymond Green who was the first to check him afterwards later said he understood the logic behind it but making Curry mad may backfire given his natural killer instinct. Houston may not win a game this series because of it but who knows? Time will tell.
It will also reveal whether or not the Warriors can solidify their “Best Team in NBA History” title with a back to back Championship. Check out the full Playoff bracket below, do you think they will repeat or will the Spurs be a stumbling block out West? Hit us @SwaysUniverse with your thoughts!
