It looks like an end is finally in sight regarding the 2014 collision that left comedians Tracy Morgan severely injured and James McNair dead. The accident occurred after a Walmart driver slammed into a limo bus carrying the group, resulting in injuries that Morgan is still trying to recover from more than a year later.
The family of McNair will reportedly receive at least $10 million while Morgan has settled for an undisclosed amount, releasing a written statement that read,“Walmart did right by me and my family, and for my associates and their families. I am grateful that the case was resolved amicably.”
Walmart CEO Greg Foran released a statement as well explaining, “While we know there is nothing that can change what happened, Walmart has been committed to doing what’s right to help ensure the well-being of all of those who were impacted by the accident.” He added, “We are pleased to have reached an amicable settlement that ends this litigation.”
Here’s to hoping that the actor/comedian makes a full recovery.
