Minister, humanitarian, Civil Rights leader. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr was all these things and more as he fought for equality while enduring imprisonment and hate. Born January 15, 1929, Dr. King thought of others before himself time and time again.
From Selma, Alabama to the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, Dr. King’s powerful words of enlightenment are still heard to this day. With over one million tweets containing quotes from Dr. King hitting the internet in the past year (USA Today), we can all learn a lesson of love and compassion from such a great man who was taken from this world far too early.
Rest in peace, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, you will never be forgotten.
