It’s that time again! The Rob Report with Rob Markman, where we break down music for the game’s hottest artists. Last week we checked out Stalley and his major label debut album OHIO and this week we’re looking at Killer Mike and El-P’s Run the Jewels 2.
Sure there are things to nitpick at, but by the end of the 11-track album you just have to thank the rap gods for bringing Killer Mike and El-P together.
Run The Jewels 2 is intelligent, progressive and banging and on it the Jewel Runners break down the imaginary walls that we construct in hip-hop. Doubters need to look no further than “Blockbuster Night Part.1” where the pair trade bullying bars while doing away with their competition. In the end Run The Jewels 2 prove that the sometimes the best rap gems come from the least expected dealers so I’m going to give the LP an 8 out of 10. Solid.
That’s my take But what did you think of Run the Jewels 2? Hit me on Twitter @RobMarkman let me know what you think, I talk back.
