The Rob Report: Rob Markman Rates Drake's "If You're Reading This It's Too Late" an 8 out of 10

What’s up citizens this ya guy Rob Markman with The Rob Report, where we break down music for the game’s hottest artists. And this week we’re going to breakdown Drake’s If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late.

No one really saw it coming but last thursday Drizzy dropped his first mixtape since 2009’s So Far Gone and he’s already sold just about 500,000 copies in a matter of days. The tape is more aggressive than the Drake projects that you’re used to, as the Young Money rap star beats his chest on tracks like “Legend,” “6 God” and “Energy.”

If you’re not already a Drake fan If You’re reading This won’t change your mind, but with this new tape Drizzy proves that he’s at the top of his game. My only critique is that there isn’t much variation in the beats and energy. Dosent mean it’s bad, just means that tracks like “10 Bands,” “6 Man” and “No Tellin” are all driven by haunting melodies and rap chants,

Is this new project Drake’s best? No. But it’s a whole lot better than a lot of shit out now, that’s why I’m giving it a 8 out of 10. Because if this is only the mixtape, imagine what the album is going to sound like.
