Technology has impacted every aspect of our lives. From the way we connect and talk with one another, the way we live, travel and more have been affected by technology. Today technology expands further into our life as we get a look at The Alavi House. This unique and intriguing design sits on the edge of the desert in Iran and puts a focus on technology for energy. The design was the brainchild of BMDesign who created a dramatically sloped roof to create areas of negative pressure that help to ventilate the building.
Sitting on top of the concrete shell is a “double skin” that is finished in new invisible Tesla solar cells. These solar cells take full advantage of life in the desert, providing enough energy for the home to function in the harsh environment. This second layer can be opened or closed, which means that the sun can be used to warm things up during the cold winter. The skin keeps the roof shaded during the Summer months while generating plenty of power in the process. This is a flawless example of sustainable living, as well as a beautiful showcase of how technology has impacted our day to day lives. Have a look below and give us your thoughts in the comments.
