T-Pain is at an incredibly inspiring point in his life right now after the success of his 2015 project “The Iron Way.” After taking the industry by storm in 2005 with “I’m Sprung,” T-Pain saw his success peak after his third studio album “Three Ringz.”
Sitting down with Sway this year at SXSW, T-Pain told his incredible story like you’ve never heard it before. Although many of the topics he touches on are dark and take the listener through some his lowest points, T-Pain is able to make every valley into a peak as he speaks on how he changed his outlook with each and every failure.
From what he thought were his friends stealing his equipment and jewelry while staying at his house to not being able to get ahold of DJ Khaled during the low point in his career, T-Pain has endured a tremendous amount. Besides a few instances of really speaking his mind on the messed up politics of the industry, he has kept a positive outlook and launched his I Am T-Pain app and microphone when his actual music wasn’t taking off like it should.
During the hour and twenty minute talk Sway and T-Pain joke and laugh about childhood memories, raising kids, being married for 13 years, just to name a few. T-Pain also speaks on his relationship with Chris Brown and giving up on trying to connect with Future to squash a beef that really isn’t even a feef.
As his career turns a new leaf revealing his top notch singing voice without the aid of auto-tune, this revealing conversation is a great tool for any young artist, producer, or aspiring label exec looking to make a splash in the music industry.
