Already cemented in Raiders history as the first rookie WR to pick up over 1,000 yards, Miami native Amari Cooper has a long and prosperous career ahead of him. With a win over the Super Bowl 50 champs the Denver Broncos in the 2015-2016 season, Cooper speaks on the progress that the Oakland Raiders made this season and how it will extend into next.
After an incredibly impressive rookie year that included a trip to the Pro Bowl, Cooper speaks on taking some time off to rest in the offseason so his body is completely healed for a run to the Super Bowl next year. Having newly retired elite NFL defensive back Charles Woodson in his corner for the last year, Cooper breaks down what a great teacher and influencer Woodson was. Working day in and day out in what he knew was his last NFL season, Cooper looks to take some of Woodson’s work ethic with him during his career.
One of the biggest topics of discussion at this year’s Super Bowl was Cam Newton and his love for celebration. Comparing it to rewarding yourself for doing well on a quiz in school, Cooper has no issue with Newton’s high energy. Ending the interview by denying Sway’s invitation to spit a quick 8-bars, Cooper’s quiet demeanor and focus is something to be admired.
