Everyone knows that Summer=Festival Season and Festival Season=Summer.
Now that it’s officially the summer time, what better way to enjoy the beautiful weather than with music, food & good vibes?
Here’s a few pointers that you guys may want to take heed to when preparing for Festival Season 2016.
-White Vans or boots (Basically anything that you don’t mind getting completely trashed & they still look cool after the festival is over.)
-Go to the Merch table, FIRST! (You don’t want to risk the chance of scoring any merch because you wanted to wait until your favorite artists performed to go grab some. It’ll probably be all gone.)
-If available, register your arm band with you credit card info BEFORE you get to the festival. (It could come in handy with making purchases and prevent you from losing anything important.)
We could go on and on for days with festival pointers about how to make sure the festival experience great for you guys but we think you pretty much get it. Here are some of the biggest festivals we suggest you get to this year.
Essence Fest- New Orleans, LA
The line up this year is going to be amazing. The whole point of this festival is to bring the old school and the new school together for 3 days during the 4th or July weekend. You can expect to see performances from artists like Kendrick Lamar, Maxwell, Dougie Fresh and Mary J. Blige.
Brooklyn Hip-Hop Fest- Brooklyn, NY
What better place to be to celebrate the culture of Hip-Hop than in BK? Although in Brooklyn, Queens will be in the building by way of Nasir Jones. With Nas as the headliner and Fabolous not too far behind, this might be one you don’t want to miss.
Lollapalooza- Chicago, IL
This line up is too dope to try and condense. Just know, that this year’s Lollapalooza, will be one for the books. J. Cole, G-Eazy, Major Laser and Bryson Tiller just to name a few… The Chi always shows mad love too.
AfroPunk- Brooklyn, NY
This year’s AfroPunk has us a little too excited. Day by day the line-up grows more and more and with each addition it just gets better. AP presents Tyler, the Creator ladies and gentlemen. Not on will T be there but Syd and the Internet will also accompany him. Those two acts alone should be enough to make one go. If you’ve never seen Tyler live, you’re doing yourself a disservice.
Made In America- Philadelphia, PA
Released just a few hours ago, this year’s Made In American festival hosted by Budweiser, will be one for the books. While a fairly new festival, every year if grows. This year’s line up is for everyone that’s been keeping track of Hip-Hop’s greatness this year. Rihanna, Chance the Rapper, Travis $cott, Ferg, Kodak Black and the list goes on. This just might be the festival of the year.
To be honest, all we’re waiting for is Guwop to be added in somewhere. We definitely can’t miss the resurgence of Gucci Mane.
So there, a little short and sweet guide to Festival SZN 2016. Make sure to grab those tickets EARLY!
