New York City’s own, Raekwon is back. Today the wordsmith and Wu-Tang representative returns, pairing up with CeeLo Green for a new track called “Marvin.” The fellas take their time and pay homage to Marvin Gaye, offering up a dose of their respective talents in the process. Driven by some smooth and familiar melodies while paired up with some smooth drum work, the instrumental makes quite a home for the duo to do their thing, and they do not fail. The track is from Raekwon’s latest album, The Wild, and isn’t something to sleep on.
Speaking of the new track, Raekwon stated “He’s a revolutionist. He’s a writer. He’s a man that came from the bottom, you know? Talking about Detroit. Talking about some of the roughest places in the world. He was a visionary and his music is universal. I like the fact that when music was going through a transition, he had a lot of things on his mind, so he went to go create an album on top of a mountain, something that was totally different from what was going on at that time.” Check out the new effort in the stream below and speak your thoughts on it after the jump. stay tuned for much more from Raekwon coming very soon!
