One of the perks of being a world champion, visiting the white house and cracking basketball jokes with the president himself. After taking care of business on the court last night in a game that included Draymond Green posting a franchise record 10th triple double and Steph Curry dropping 51 points, it was time to enjoy a little bit of their 45-4 success as defending champs.
As President Obama welcomed them into his slightly above average DC home, the team couldn’t avoid catching a few friendly jabs from the Bulls fan – calling the 1996 Chicago history’s best because of head coach Steve Kerr. The trip of a lifetime wasn’t all fun and games however, the president had some very uplifting words for Golden State describing them with the following:

That is an extreme honor to be regarded as such by the President of the United States. As we approach the All-Star break, the league’s defending champions have no thoughts of slowing down before experiencing that Finals victory rush once again. At a NBA historic pace, they’re in good shape so far at doing just that…but today definitely had to rank pretty close to winning a championship.
