With the killings of Keith Lamont Scott and Terrance Crutcher this week by police, our political analyst Mike Muse stopped by Sway in the Morning today for the second morning in a row.
Revealing that the police have said that a gun was found near Keith Lamont Scott after he was shot, his family disagrees and say’s Scott was reading a book as he waited for his son to get back from school. Declaring a state of emergency in Charlotte where the killing took place, Muse talks about the National Guard being brought in.
Moving into more Presidential news Muse plays a recent clip of Donald Trump responding to being asked what he would do to combat black on black violence in Chicago. Mentioning his thought of implementing stop and frisk, a procedure that was declared unconstitutional after it was rolled out in New York, Muse walks through how this could further escalate situations in which civilians are afraid of police approaching them.
Muse and the SITM team take calls from people on both side of the debate, listen below.
