Neil deGrasse Tyson boasts various titles, here’s a few: astrophysicist, cosmologist, author, and television star. Tyson stopped by Sway in the Morning to talk about the newly found appetite that audiences have for science. He tells us what he considers makes a “real scientist” in the digital age where anyone can post anything online.
Tyson also speaks on meeting Maryland rapper, Logic and being featured on his upcoming album Everybody, which is set to release in May. He says, “Science can never become part of our culture until it’s adopted openly and freely by artists as a source of their creativity.” Tyson clues us in on what to expect in Logic’s newest project, which he considers to be a concept piece. He also provides some background on Logic’s album cover by pointing out that it’s a remake of an existing work of art with new characters.
We tested Tyson’s knowledge with a game of Puzzle the Genius, to see if listeners could come up with questions he wouldn’t be able to answer. Watch to see if Tyson gets stumped.
