MURS Preps The Release Of ‘Captain California’ & Drops Off “God Bless Kanye West”

The west coast native wordsmith, MURS is back. After dropping off his track “Survivor” recently, MURS returns today with another solid new effort from his upcoming album. Today MURS unleashes a new track called “God Bless Kanye West.” The track is the latest release from MURS’ upcoming album, Captain California and again finds the wordsmith showing off his wide range of talents.

The lyricist again serves up something solid while sending concerns out for Kanye West and others in the black community who deal with mental health issues. Speaking on the album MURS stated: “The whole album is based on my love of comic books” adding “On Captain California, I’m making things colorful and vivid and telling stories where I sensationalize them without glorifying them.” He also spoke in-depth about the track as he said “We pray for each other and I believe in the power of prayer, but we could really use more mental health professionals in our community instead of mocking Kanye West.” MURS added “He’s having problems and he’s having to work through it. He’s like a football player playing hurt, to me.” Check out the new track in the stream below and speak your thoughts on it after the jump. Stay tuned for much more from MURS and look for Captain California coming March 10th and head to iTunes to pre-order it right now!
