On February 7, 2006 music lost one of its greatest souls and magical minds as James ‘J. Dilla’ Dewitt Yancey passed away.
Crafting magic for the likes of A Tribe Called Quest, Slum Village, The Pharcyde, Common, The Roots, and D’Angelo, J Dilla solidified himself as one of the greatest producers ever. Even though Dilla has been gone for nearly 10 years his legacy has lived on through the passion and vision brought forward by his mother, Ma Dukes. From the annual J Dilla weekend in Miami to sharing his most lively memories and starting the J Dilla Foundation, Ma Dukes is a visionary in her own right.
Being a man who lived for making beats there are an astounding number of J Dilla instrumentals that never saw the light of day. Well thanks to Ma Dukes and Vintage Vibez Music Group there will be 40 exclusive beats released to the public. Releasing under the name “Dillatronic,” the album comes with a variety of purchase options which you can find HERE, but don’t sleep because there is only a limited supply.
If you can’t wait till the October 30 release date we have you covered with one of the 40 releases, “Dillatronic #7” below.
