If you are going to make a bold statement and set precedence in a shoe industry that already shells out millions to the best of the best, what better way to do it than with two of the most recognizable brands in the world: Lebron James and Nike.
If you asked LeBron on Draft Day what his goals were, they probably sounded like: Win A Championship. Be the Best Ever. Make sure my mom is taken care of for life. Two Championships and Four MVPs checked off that list, it looks like the deal with Nike will put an exclamation behind the last goal as Bron will be Team Nike for life.

“We can confirm that we have agreed to a lifetime relationship with LeBron that provides significant value to our business, brand and shareholders. We have already built a strong LeBron business over the past 12 years, and we see the potential for this to continue to grow throughout his playing career and beyond.” (via ESPN)
As the other shoe brands such as Under Armour and Adidas were both making moves signing Steph Curry and James Harden respectively, it seems like the competition just hit an entirely new level as Nike bossed up. All 3 signed players were MVP finalists last season too.
Congrats LeBron James!
