Chief Executive Officer of 300 Entertainment, Kevin Liles stopped by Sway in the Morning to introduce us to Tre De Kid, the winner of the Verizon and 300 Entertainment Freestyle 50 Challenge. Last year the companies partnered up and set out to find the nation’s next best freestyle lyricist by hosting a competition that was largely activated through social media. Tre Da Kid took the crown as he beat out 10,000 other contestants.
The Maryland rapper previously participated on BET’s 106 & Park Freestyle Friday in 2011. Although he lost, he gained respect from various artists in the industry. “I had rappers in my DM . . . Mac Miller he was like man you should have won that.”
Tre Da Kid walked us through his experience in the Freestyle 50 Challenge and clued us in on what’s next in his career.
