John Ross’ 4.22 Seconds Breaks The NFL Combine 40-Yard Dash Record

When it comes to speed, no one is quite as fast as John Ross these days at the 2017 NFL Combine. The word from the scouting showcase is that there is a new record for the 40-yard dash which was held by Calvin Johnson, set in 2008. The former University of Washington wide receiver John Ross broke the record with a time of 4.22 seconds. However, he will not be given an island by adidas.

The 2016 AP Pac-12 Player of the Year broke the record while wearing Nike’s taking him out of the running for the adidas gift, though he did sign with Nike after his speedy sprint. He also spoke about the record-breaking run stating: “I’m just thankful beyond measure, blessed, and just really happy to be in this situation. Because two years ago, I was sitting on the couch for the whole season, torn ACL, and now to be in this position, I’m really thankful.” He also opened up about losing out on adidas’ gift of his own island adding “I really can’t swim that well,” Ross said. “And I don’t have a boat, so, you know, I had to run in Nikes.” Check out the run below, in case you missed it, and let us know what you think in the comments.
