A lot of people don’t consider themselves an Alcoholic but according to the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence(NCADD) reports that 17.6 million people suffer from alcohol abuse or dependence along with several million more who engage in risky, binge drinking patterns that could lead to alcohol problems. President Bob Lindsey of the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence joined us and spoke about Alcohol Awareness Month. This year’s theme is “HEALTHY CHOICES, HEALTHY COMMUNITIES: PREVENT UNDERAGE DRINKING.” which is a great time as we are approaching the beginning of prom and graduation season.
All month long the NCADD mission is to raise awareness while encouraging people to make healthy and safe choices when it comes to the use of alcohol.
