DeRay Davis and Bill Bellamy may be comedians but they can also keep it all the way real about what’s going on in the world. Joining Sway in the Morning the two open up about some of their current rolls and also reminisce about previous work they’ve done. They crack a few jokes and then get completely serious when the recent events in Orlando, Baton Rouge, Falcon Heights and Dallas are brought up.
When Sway asks both men how they handle performing right after tragedy has struck they both speak on breaking the barrier and towing the line of what should be said. DeRay jumps in and opens up about coming from the streets and seeing violence making him more comfortable with the subject.
Moving on they both speak on what they tell their children about interacting with the police. After going back and forth about the subject DeRay tells a story of getting in an altercation with a security guard at a waffle house. Detailing the guards dialogue and pre-conceived notion he says he’s lucky he grabbed his pepper spray instead of his gun when the altercation began.
There is some hilarity that ensues among the serious conversation when DB and DeRay go back and forth with each other after the two tell a story of hanging out together in the club. There is no clear winner as they both get in some pretty good shots about each others attire.
