It was confirmed yesterday that legendary artist David Bowie has passed away at the age of 69 after an 18-month battle with cancer. Having just celebrated a birthday on January 8th, Bowie had also recently released a new album, “Blackstar.”
With over 40 years spent in the music industry, Bowie had a part in over 20 albums and was an innovator that spanned over many different genre’s. First hitting the scene in 1969 with his hit “Space Oddity,” Bowie continued to pave the way for artists that thought outside the box.
There is a memorial concert planned at Carnegie Hall for March 31 to feature the likes of The Roots, Cyndi Lauper, Perry Farrell and Jakob Dylan. More information and tickets can be found here.
