Bay Area Rapper The Jacka Murdered In Oakland + Last Sway In The Morning Visit

We send our condolences to The Jacka’s family this morning. He’s been a Bay Area representative for years and it’s sad to see him leave this way. OAKLAND we have to start doing better.

CBS San Francisco reports that the 37-year-old, whose real name is Dominic Newton, was gunned down on MacArthur Boulevard by 94th Avenue in the Eastmont area of Oakland.

Witnesses said they heard several shots fired around 8:15 p.m. local time, according to reports. Currently no suspects have been identified. The Jacka, whose career started in the late-90s, was a member of The Mob Figaz. A respected artist on the underground circuit, The Jacka and Philly rapper Freeway released their collaborative Highway Robbery LP in 2014.
