The last time we heard from Snarkitecture they were treating the good folks of Tampa, Florida to ‘The Beach.’ Today Snarkitecture is back this time celebrating the 80th anniversary of Italian luxury leather company Valextra with something spectacular. They recently transformed the brand’s Milan pop-up into an exciting shopping experience, adding an eye-catching cloud canopy overhead. Daniel Arsham and Alex Mustonen of Snarkitecture spoke about the concept and design stating: “Our approach considered the forms and palette of the Valextra collection.”
They went on to add “We felt that a monochromatic space would provide a striking, but complementary, setting for the Valextra pieces. Several key elements of the design were inspired by visits to Milan. We were interested in the juxtaposition of hard, architectural surfaces with soft textures, as well as the play between precision (the grid-like scaffold) and looseness (the irregular scrim fabric).” The space is divided into three separate sections. Each one features its own internal support system, with white mesh covering all sorts of elements for a unique look and aesthetic. Have a look at the unique design in the video below. Speak your thoughts on it after the jump and stay tuned for much more from Snarkitecture coming soon.
